Fanciful Stroll

12 FPS. 10 drawings.

A simple walk-cycle. This one can be exaggerated much more, so I'll probably return to this once soon. I can make his feet even bigger, or make his torso react even more.

Float like a Butterfly

12 FPS. 8 drawings.

Someone pointed out that twinning was occurring with its tail. I changed it a little, but now I wonder if the drawing is perhaps too busy for such a simple animation.

Open Wide

12 FPS. 21 drawings.

Bird-like creature makes a face, as if saying "let me be!".

Sphere Taking a Bite

12 FPS. 21 drawings.

At first I was happy with it, but then I went and tried to exaggerate the "bite"... though I'm not sure if it worked, and I need to move on. So, I'll upload both.

Before exaggeration:

After exaggeration:

I can't really decide if it worked or not.

Squashing the Bug

12 FPS. 22 drawings.

The first one to go. A flour-sack-like character that I'm sure I'll use quite often in this blog.

Feedback Appreciated

I appreciate any and all feedback given, especially the kind that is constructive criticism. My goal is to animate and move on, so no matter how great the advice, if I don't initially change an animation, keep in mind I still take your advice and will use it for animations down the road.

Animation a Day: The Rules

Somewhat a daily journal, part ongoing series, and all done for the sake of drawing, this is my daily Animation a Day blog. Here are the rules of how I'm going to do this...

- I will attempt to produce 5 animations a week.
- The other days of the week will be used to clean up or alter previous animations.
- Each animation will be sketchy in order to save time, and to allow myself to edit them easily.

These animations will be about anything I feel like. Perhaps silly, serious, technical, or part of a series of related animations to tell a story. I pretty much will do what I want, but I do have some goals.

I want to improve, no doubt, but I also want to enjoy animating, and develop skills needed to animate fluidly and consistently. Who knows, maybe this will lead to a nice animation reel I can use down the road. In the meantime, I'll just do it, and have fun.
